Having a coverage area defined to 23 circles of telecom throughout India, Hutchinson Essar is the only operator that operates in India. The establishment of Vodafone Esaar was linked in Mumbai. An agreement was passed to remove essar from its business of Indian cell phones. An amount of $5.46 was paid to the Indian part for the reason being to remove Essar from a share of 33% of stake available. It is making a plan to exclude Vodafone which is carrying on with 74% of its business while the remaining 26% will be held with the Indian investors as per the domicile of Indian law.  In comparison to the revenue generator, it s the second largest telecom operator after the name of Bharti Airtel and is also occupying the position of third largest in terms of generating customers. Till February, 2011 vodafone was having an approximate of 134.5 million customers.
